Monday, August 25

Last night was a difficult night for Dave. He woke up at 1:30 throwing up and was awake until 5:00 with breathing episodes and more nauseousness. When the doctors made their rounds they decided to give Dave medicine 4 times a day for the nausea. They talked about many options on how to handle Dave's malnourishment. Dave is going to have a CT scan of his abdomen this afternoon. His WBC went down to 32,300! They also talked about pulling out the JP tube another inch today. Dave isn't running a temperature, however, one doctor suggested the reason Dave isn't running a temp with the high WBC (which would indicate infection) is because his malnurished body isn't able to run a temp. Dave hasn't had hiccups since the middle of the night, therefore no breathing episodes, PTL!!!!!

Praying in Chicago again. Thank you for the updates and I'm still hoping to visit with you when I get back there this Fall.

I know how your life is about now...Been there!! God is good and HE will accomplish all that concerns you! (Psalm 138:8)

Please let us know if he is still on TPN...or if he's now on tube feedings only. That will surely make a difference!

Praying with you, The Harvey's

Our prayers are still going up constantly for Dave and his doctors as they look for solutions. Thinking about you, too, Diane and Jiree, Tracy, Brad and Nate. I was just reading this morning about the faithfulness of God and thinking of all of you in His care. We pray for His love to be known by you in extraordinary ways as you rest in Him. Love and hugs to all, Brad and Jackie

Dave and all the Carpenters have been on my mind almost nonstop the last few days, especially through the nighttime hours - waking up frequently in the night. I've prayed fervently. So, I had to get up when it was still dark to check your blog site to see what was going on that God was prompting me to pray so much. Now I see that with the nighttime nausea, you needed all the prayers and support which anyone could give. Please know that many of us are standing with you, even if we haven't spoken up before. Dave, even Noah and all my children frequently pray for you daily.

With you in prayer,
The Huggenbergers
Peggy

Uncle Dave,
Even though I haven't left a comment since we saw you back in July, please know you continue to be in our hearts and our thoughts. We are so encouraged by your continued strength and spirit! We send a big hug to you, Diane, Traci, Brad, Nate and Jiree. Love you all!

Love,
Malia, Stan, and Courtney
