Dave's white blood count is 3.2 today. His temperature is 101.5. Dr Smith, with the ID team, came in today and stated Dave may need to have a bone marrow biopsy because of his low white blood count, high temperatures, and history of cancer. Dave didn't like the idea of a bone marrow biopsy so Dr Smith said he would talk with the hemo team. The hemo team came in and said they will have to do a biopsy if the white blood count goes down or if there is a fever that they can't explain. The biopsy will be able to tell if there is actually an infection. It would also be able to tell if there was a tumor. The blood tests they ran a couple of weeks ago for cancer were negative, however, the white blood count pattern and high temperatures are still concerning and they must get to the bottom of the problem. Dave is still in a lot of pain from the injection site where the fluid was aspirated from his lung yesterday. Please continue to pray for Dave's comfort. Dave was able to have oatmeal (pureed) this morning, better than broth for breakfast!

We did not remember that Dave had cancer previously. Thank you so much for the blogs. It does really help to know every little detail, to allow us to pray for specifics. I keep praying the Light of God surrounds you all. The Love of God enfolds you. The power of God protects you. The presence of God is watching over you all as well! Over and over and over. Daily! Want to come see you soon. Jiree, email or call me sometime when you have a chance. Let me know what your schedule is for the next couple of weeks. Thanks!
Love and prayers to all of you!

It is impossible for us, humanly speaking, to understand the why's and how's of what God is doing. We see only the fringes of His infinite purposes but even in that limited sight, we know His plans will always accomplish what is good for us and what will glorify Him.
During difficult times, those words can almost seem trite, if it were not for the truth behind them. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that will bring glory to our infinitely Holy God that will not also accomplish His good in our lives. The two are inseparable. And it is that truth that gives us the courage to trust Him, even when we are faced with trial after trial. We are praying for that continued courage for all of you. We pray for His strength, His wisdom, His grace, and His love to surround you and support you.
Our prayers go up constantly on your behalf.
Love to all of you,
Brad & Jackie
We are praying for you Dave and family Just keep strong while we dont understand everything God does.."For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD,
"plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future."

I was just looking for that Jeremiah passage, so glad
someone beat me to it!
I hurt for you and all the
suffering that you are going
through. Can you imagine
if you didn't have God in your
life? How do unbelievers do it?
Psalm 119:49,50 - Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope. My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise renews my life.

Hi Dave & Diane:
I was reading the blog this morning and in my search I ran across these scriptures. Hope they encourage you. 1 Peter 1:6-7. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
Also, John 9:1-3. As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life." I know that not all affliction is for specific sins. God often sends affliction to purify and strengthen our faith, for his glory. Dave, God is refining you too! I know He is going to use you in the lives of other people in great and mighty ways. He already has! Be strengthened in the love of the brethren. We will all keep praying!

Dave, Diane and family,
Today as I was thinking about you and praying for you I was reminded of a beautiful section of scripture about God's sovereignty. It is Isaiah 40:21-26 Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been declared to you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, who stretches out the heavens like a curtain and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. He it is who reduces rulers to nothing, who makes the judges of the earth meaningless. Scarcely have they been planted, scarcely have they been sown, scarcely has their stock taken root in the earth, but He merely blows on them, and they wither, and the storm carries them away like stubble. "To whom then will you liken Me that I would be his equal?" says the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created these stars, the One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, not one of them is missing.
It is comforting to know that the God who sits above the earth also holds you in His loving hand.
