Monday, July 7th

Morning update: Dave's white blood cell count is up to 1,800, still below normal. His temperature is at 103.2. Dave is receiving dialysis for 4 hours today. The renal doctors came in today with the results of the URR (kidney function) test. They are concerned because Dave has been on dialysis for 6 days in a row and normal protocol is 2 days on and 1 day off. Their conclusion was that Dave is still very ill and they are hopeful that dialysis will not be a permanent need. The infectious disease doctors are still working on Dave's case but they haven't been able to pinpoint anything yet. Dave continues with the ventilation support for 2 hours at a time every 6 hours. The results from the ultrasound yesterday shows that the blood flow to the liver still looks good. Thank you for your continued prayers.

In knowing that there is never a situation that is too big for God to handle, we will continue to trust and believe that God is working out every little detail somehow and in some way. We haven't stopped praying for all of you...for Dave's healing and comfort, and for each of you for daily encouragement in many shapes and forms, as well as for continued strength and trust through this all. God is good all the time... ~ The Petersens Ü

"Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me, for in you my soul takes refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed." Psalm 57:1

Praying for you all as you watch the labs. Just know...OUR Lord is changing all these values to work best in Daves body right now! We want everything to be in the "normal" range, yet the our GOD knows exactly where each value needs to be to help his body continue to heal!

TRUST HIM as you await the labs and rejoice with each one! One of my continual prayers with Dad was, "Thank you Lord, for you know exactly where each component of blood needs to be to sustain him through this day...help me to trust you and not have fear as you adjust every level to be perfectly suited to his particular healing process!"

We continue to pray from Chicago!

Hey Carpenters!
Just wanted you to know that we're still praying and I think of you every day and always check the blog for more updates. You continue to be in my prayers. It's awesome to be able to know specifically what needs there are to pray about. May you feel God's comforting grace as He is with you always. I know for me it might be hard not to get discouraged, but just remember, "Nothing is too difficult for the Lord." Genesis 18:14 Take care and God bless!
