Thursday, July 3rd
Morning update: White blood count is down again...15,000!!! Thank you Lord! Please continue to pray for Dave as today seems to be another day of extreme discomfort and pain. They have Dave on dialysis again for 3.5 hours today and he will be receiving one unit of blood also. His temperature was at 102.9 early this morning and now it has dropped to 100.4! Please pray that Dave will be able to get some rest as the ICU is not a very restful place! Physical Therapy was in early this morning to have Dave sitting up in a chair. This was not very comfortable and definitely a lot of work for him. PT will be in again this afternoon. Dave's abdominal area is very "bloated" and taught. This is something the doctors have been concerned with off and on for a number of days. It is very uncomfortable/painful for Dave. As questions arise we are very slowly bringing Dave up to speed on the events of the last few weeks. He was shocked yesterday to know that we are now in the month of July! Dave will be surprised to know everything he has endured. Thank you for your faithful prayers, you are all so encouraging to us!

Hey Dave-o! It's so good to hear that you're doing so well. We are so thankful to see how God has answered so many of our prayers. We will continue to pray for you and your family! We're doing lots of jumping up and down back here in the pharmacy!
Love you,

Diane and Family...I too am rejoicing with you but totally understand your roller coaster ride! We have just slowed down our 72 day journey with my father in and out of ICU here in the Chicagoland area and can testify to the weariness you all carry. We used to go to IHCC when we lived in Lincoln and I read your blog daily and pray for you accordingly.
I too have a medical report blog for Dad (on a daily basis for a long time) and totally appreciate every little drop in the WBC as well as monitoring platelets as they respond to major antibiotics...I&O's and such.
If you are sitting in the waiting room with nothing to do, pop into my blog and click on "Dad's Journey" on the right side. 3 pages worth sofar. The Lord has opened my eyes to many scripture verses in a totally new light during this time and the Words of our Savior have brought me more comfort than any medical report! Perhaps some of them will offer you comfort as you have those days of being in a "holding pattern".
We will continue to pray, wait and watch as the Lord uses prayer along with modern medicine to bring healing to Dave's body!
We look forward to meeting you BOTH in person on our next trip back later this summer!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. For Dave's recovery and for your family's continued strength and endurance. Great news on Dave. Your example of faith, the prayers of friends and family (BIG FAMILY), and God's faithfulness in using the Med Center's doctor's medical knowledge are a real encouragement. We love you guys and gals.

Again- I really appreciate you taking the time to update us on your dad, Traci. We're continuously keeping him in our prayers. ...On another note: I can't imagine what it would feel like to lose 3 weeks like he has!! It'll be quite something for him to be able to read this blog you've put together just to see what kind of condition he really was in!! We're so thankful that he's continuing to get better- we'll definitely be praying for the discomfort though!!
My friend Jackie B.(The Lord used her to lead me to the Lord 28 years ago.) from Lincoln told me about Dave's accident and then told me about the blog. I count it a privilege and an honor to be able to pray for Dave everyday. So thankful to hear he is doing better.
