Dave started dialysis this morning at 7:45am. Since Dave is not in ICU anymore, they can not do bedside dialysis. Dave returned to the room around 1:00pm. The results for the CT scan yesterday show that bile is now moving into the intestine, this is good news! The Orthopedic team said that the x-ray of Dave's ankle showed that there is still a fracture, but Dave can begin to put some weight on his ankle. This will make physical therapy much easier for Dave. Dave is adjusting well to his new room, it is much quieter and much smaller! Dave and Diane have not made a decision yet about aspirating the lung. Please pray for Dave as he is not sleeping well, the nights are lonely for him as he just 'watches the clock and prays'. Praise God, He will never leave us nor forsake us. What a wonderful promise!

Dave, hang in there...it's great to see the improvements that are being made. It's a long haul, but every day is one day closer to the day you get out. Take care and God Bless, Aaron and Amy Kassebaum

Praise the Lord for the many giant steps of progress this week. God is so good! We'll continue to pray for wisdom for the doctors and decisions to be made.
We are very happy for the assorted bits of good news we keep reading each day in the blog, all these seemingly small things add up to Dave being well on his way to a complete recovery! That has been and continues to be our prayer for Dave. We also pray for him as he seeks strength from the Lord and needs patience when things aren't happening as fast as he wants.
We also continue to uphold you Diane and all the kids on this journey, you are all doing an amazing job of supporting and helping Dave each day. We pray for your continued strength and good health so you can be everything Dave needs you to be.
We serve an amazing God, and seeing Him at work cell by cell in Dave to heal him is truly watching a miracle take place. It's been a long journey from the side of that trail, and we are here for each step of the way.
Love and many prayers,
Mike and Jeanie
Dave,
It's good to see the continued positive changes. We continue to pray for you daily as you walk this path of recovery. Praise God for his faithfulness to you over these weeks! Kyle & Carey Helmink
One of my devotions today made me think of you and all that your family's been through. It was from a devotional by T.D. Jakes and had to do with Job. It made me think of the days when things seemed almost overwhelming for Dave and somewhat hopeless. But now as you look back, to see God at work is so amazing. This is what Jakes had to say for today..."Job said, "Behold, I go forward, but He is not there" (Job 23:8a). It is terrifying when you see no change coming in the future. Comfort comes when you know that the present adversity will soon be over. But what comfort can be found when it seems the problem will never cease? It actually is satan's trick to make you think help is not coming. That hopelessness then produces anxiety. On the other hand, sometimes the feeling that you eventually will come to a point of transition can give you the tenacity to persevere the current challenge. But there can often seem to be no slackening in distress. Like a rainstorm that will not cease, the waters of discouragement begin to fill the tossing ship with water. Suddenly you experience a sinking feeling. HOWEVER, there is no way to sink a ship when you do not allow the waters from the outside to get on the inside! If the storms keep coming, the lightning continues to flash and the thunder thumps on through the night, what matters is keeping the waters out of the inside. Keep that stuff out of your spirit!" God is being glorified daily through you guys; keep standing firm! We're praying for you all daily!
